Microsoft launched public testing of Copilot for Gaming, an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot for Xbox players, on Wednesday. It is presently accessible in the beta version of the Xbox app for mobile for iOS and Android. According to the Redmond-based software company, the AI chatbot can answer game-related questions, give hints for beating a level in a game, and even propose games to play based on previous games played. The company has also sought beta testers for comments on the new experience.
Copilot for Gaming is now available as a second-screen companion for gamers
Microsoft's Xbox division said in a press post that the chatbot will be available to a limited number of people. Copilot for Gaming will be offered in this early test to users of the Xbox app beta on iOS and Android. The early preview is accessible in English for gamers 18 and older.
Copilot for Gaming is now being tested in several countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the United States. Currently, the AI chatbot is not available in European Union countries or in the United Kingdom. Microsoft stated that these territories would be included at a later date.
The chatbot is now available on a second screen, so it does not detract from the basic gameplay experience. Copilot for Gaming can access the user's Xbox activities, such as account data, play history, and accomplishments, and tailor its answers accordingly. Furthermore, it may retrieve information from the internet to aid users.
This version of Copilot for Gaming allows users to ask questions about any game. For example, users may question the chatbot about the resources required to create a weapon in Minecraft or how to defeat the boss in Hogwarts Legacy's first challenge. Users may also ask the chatbot for game recommendations. They may either define the type of game they want to play or have the AI propose new games based on their gaming history.
Users can also ask inquiries regarding their gameplay history or accounts. These queries might be about their Xbox accomplishments or membership information.
