Xiaomi 16 is scheduled to be released later this year as the successor to last year's Xiaomi 15. Months before the expected debut date, a tipster has indicated the flagship's major specs. The phone is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC. It is reported to be the first device to have the top Qualcomm processor. Xiaomi 16 might have a triple back camera arrangement with three 50-megapixel sensors. The phone is expected to have better battery life than its predecessor.
Xiaomi 16 Specs (Leaked)
Tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo posted (via) rumored details for the Xiaomi 16. It is believed to have a 6.3-inch flat OLED display. The screen is expected to have tiny bezels on all four sides. The phone might come with Android 16 and Xiaomi's HyperOS 3.0 UI. The previous Xiaomi 15 uses the company's HyperOS 2.0 Android overlay.
Xiaomi 16 is likely to use Qualcomm's forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor. The chipmaker plans to introduce the SoC at the Snapdragon Summit in late September; the Xiaomi 16 series is expected to be the first to arrive with this processor.
The device is claimed to include a triple rear camera unit that has a 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with macro capabilities. The existing Xiaomi 15 model features a similar camera arrangement.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi 16 is believed to have a battery with a capacity of more than 6,500 mAh. This would be a significant boost over the Xiaomi 15's 5,240mAh battery (Indian model). The Chinese version of the phone has a 5,400mAh battery.
Xiaomi is expected to release the Xiaomi 16 series in late September or early October in China. The phone's global release may occur a few months later, most likely early next year.
Xiaomi 15 was introduced in China in October of last year, alongside the Xiaomi 15 Pro. The device debuted in India in March 2025, with an initial price of Rs. 64,999 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage option.
