The company stated Monday that it was rebranding and recruiting for many open roles in their unnamed action game. The Japanese firm stated that it was not yet ready to discuss game specifics, but that it was searching for creators who shared its vision for its next project. The update comes a year after Tango Gameworks' parent firm, Microsoft, shut down the studio to focus on "high-impact titles".

Tango Gameworks has rebranded and announced a new project, marking its rebirth after being shut down by Microsoft in May of last year, despite releasing the critically praised Hi-Fi Rush. At the time, the Xbox parent closed numerous Bethesda-owned teams, including Tango and Redfall creator Arkane Austin, in order to focus on its most successful games.
Krafton purchased Tango Gameworks in August 2024, marking its "first significant investment in the Japanese video game market." The agreement also includes intellectual property rights for Hi-Fi Rush.
"KRAFTON intends to support the Tango Gameworks team to continue its commitment to innovation and delivering fresh and exciting experiences for fans," the South Korean corporation stated at the time.
Tango Gameworks, an independent development company located in Tokyo, will work on new IPs under Krafton as well as build on current ones.
"Tango Gameworks has always been devoted to creating games based on new, intriguing ideas that our creative teams are enthusiastic about. "Now, as a part of KRAFTON, Inc., we proudly continue this tradition," the studio's new website states, detailing the collaboration with Krafton.
"Since joining KRAFTON, Tango Gameworks has embarked on a new chapter, creating titles that resonate with gamers all around the world. "We remain committed to the creation and growth of distinctive and new IPs, taking on challenges to be a unique voice in the game industry," the developer stated.
