OpenAI is already bringing out ChatGPT's memory optimizations to the platform's free tier users. On Tuesday, the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence (AI) business revealed that all chatbot users will now receive personalized replies based on prior discussions with ChatGPT. Notably, free users receive a lightweight version of the functionality. Additionally, the business is offering Codex, its coding-focused AI agent, with full Internet connection, which may be engaged during the setup phase.
ChatGPT's Memory Boost Feature is Now Available to All Users
In a tweet on X (previously known as Twitter), OpenAI's official account announced the new feature's introduction. ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers received the RAM bump for the first time in April. However, it is now being offered to users on the platform's free tier.
Prior to this memory increase, ChatGPT could only record and retain certain user information, which could be altered or removed manually by going to the Memory section of Settings. However, the recent upgrade will also enable the AI chatbot to gather knowledge and context from previous talks with the user.

Notably, OpenAI stated that free users will receive a lightweight version of the functionality rather than the full version available to premium customers. However, the corporation did not specify what the adjustments will be.
Separately, the AI company is improving its coding agent Codex. In a post on X, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that Codex will soon have full Internet connectivity, which may be enabled during the setup process. This option will be turned off by default.
codex gets access to the internet today! it is off by default and there are complex tradeoffs; people should read about the risks carefully and use when it makes sense.

also, we are making in available in the chatgpt plus tier.
OpenAI's help website warns that activating Internet access for Codex may expose users and organisations to security threats. The threats mentioned by the corporation include prompt injection, code exfiltration, and the insertion of malware. These hazards arise as the AI agent navigates the web and retrieves or processes untrustworthy or hazardous material.
Altman also said that Codex is now accessible for the ChatGPT Plus tier. Previously, the AI agent was exclusively available to Pro subscribers.
