Samsung was expected to introduce the Galaxy Ring successor at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January, with its top Galaxy S25 series devices, however this did not occur. According to a recent source, work of the smart ring has begun, and it may be released later than previously planned. Thus, the rumored Samsung Galaxy Ring 2, which has improved health-tracking functions, may not be released this year.
Samsung Galaxy Ring 2 Launch
According to the Dutch magazine GalaxyClub, the claimed Samsung Galaxy Ring 2 is still in its early stages of development. This might suggest that the smart ring does not launch in 2025. It is likely to appear concurrently with or following the introduction of the Galaxy S26 series, which is scheduled for an early next year Galaxy Unpacked event.
The smart ring is said to expand on the present models' functions by providing greater use, more accurate health and fitness tracking, and maybe some cosmetic improvements to the overall appearance. However, no big changes are planned, and the general appearance may remain quite unchanged. This is due to the wearable tiny form factor and the absence of "many upgradable parts".
In terms of design adjustments, Samsung may reduce the size of the smart ring, add a larger battery, or simply make it more energy efficient.
Previous sources say that the Samsung Galaxy Ring 2 would have an upgraded battery that will last more than seven days on a single charge. It is believed to include more accurate health data sensors and enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The smart ring is also expected to feature a smaller design than the present iteration, which weighs 2.3g and measures 7.0mm broad in size five.
Notably, the first generation Galaxy Ring debuted during the Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2024. In India, it was released in October with a starting price of Rs. 38,999. Buyers may select from nine different size selections, ranging from size 5 to 13, as well as three colorways: Titanium Black, Titanium Gold, and Titanium Silver.
